Bluestocking is a charming locally owned shop with a nice selection of books, art supplies, and art. If they don’t have something in stock, they’ll gladly place a special order for you. As an artist, I especially love that they support the arts community with their “monthly featured artist.” I also enjoy events they have, including art unveilings and art classes. They’re my favorite local bookstore!

What a sweet little shop. And, there’s a pug! Go support your local booksellers. Now more than ever it’s important! This is definitely a five star book store. It’s small, but cozy, and so well curated. With titles you don’t always see- and they will order titles for you. Also, they have stickers and art supplies. Cute earrings. Some local artists art. It’s a great bookstore.

My wife and I love Bluestocking Social! We're always able to find our next read, even if we're just stopping in too see Huxley the shop pug. I can especially speak to the quality of their horror and thriller selection since that's I love reading the most, but they of course have much more than that. And if you can't what you're looking for they're more than happy to special order books anytime. I'm very grateful for that, as we tend to keep a steady TBR pile at home.

Cool bookshop with the perfect vibes and decent selection. Easily perusable shelves and a few other items for sale. Staff were friendly and prices were expected.

There’s so much I could rave about this “hidden” bookstore tucked away near the university district. Their selection of both classics and emerging titles is stellar, and I always walk away with more books than I originally go seeking. Their merch, especially their stickers, are great for any fan of collecting them—cute, quirky, simple, and even local jokes galore! They also offer great art supplies and I’ve heard nothing but good things about their events. They’ve helped me every time as an educator in ordering books for my classroom library, too! Their customer service is top notch, especially the real head honcho, Huxley the Pug. Family-owned and proud of it, Bluestocking Social is a must-place stop for anyone, whether it’s an Evansville native or someone passing through town.

Such a fun art and book store! It's right next door to Honeymoon Cafe, so grab a book and then grab a coffee! I love the hand written suggestions under some books and the kids play area is awesome in the basement! My daughter and I got some books, including local authors and local lore books, she also got some art supplies and we both had to have a Huxley sticker after his sweet little self greeted us when we first came in! We will definitely be back and can't recommend this store enough 🫶🏼

Absolutely ADORABLE bookstore with amazing vibes! I go get coffee at Honeymoon next door all the time when I'm in town, so I will be stopping by here before my coffee runs in the future! Everything is laid out in such an organized way, it's so obvious how much love and effort was put into this store. Shop local y'all!

My favorite book store, and they just remodeled so they have even more space! They have a nice variety of books of any genre, as well as art supplies, stickers, and local art for sale. They offer special orders for things they don't carry in store, too. Customer service is great, the shop is always clean and comfortable. You can even grab coffee next door at Honeymoon for the perfect day out 😋 Do yourself a favor and check out some of the best local business Evansville has to offer!
